Death Valley in The Family Show

Reactor Halls E08: The Family Show
Hosted by Kathy Noble
Saturday 22 February 2014, 19:30

The Family Show takes the idea of a television chat show as a loose structure with which to stage a live exhibition, featuring talk, artwork, performance and music, celebrating the mundane to fantastical elements of daily life and art, in a collaborative endeavor.

Set within artist duo Julia Crabtree and William Evan’s recent sculpture installation Death Valley (2013) – a kind of post-apocalyptic, cartoon-esque, plasticized desert-scape, set to a neo-Western soundtrack by Eliot Crabtree – a series of conversations and performances will occur. Like any good TV chat show, the main events will be interspersed with live music and commercial breaks.

The show will include performances by Jennifer Bailey and Sophiel Aurora, a music video section compiled and compèred by Kathy Noble, and a special conversation with Julia Crabtree and William Evans.

The Family Show is organised by Kathy Noble, in collaboration with Sophiel Aurora, Jennifer Bailey, Julia Crabtree and William Evans and Eliot Crabtree.
